Both rolls are made of cold cast iron with a surface hardness of at least HV70 and a chill layer of 15-20 mm. The Twin-roll calender uses grease lubrication for easy maintenance. The frame is welded with steel sections and treated with sandblasting and two layers of primer and top paint. The Twin-roll calender uses pneumatic loading for steady pressure. It also has a curved roll with a 20# seamless steel tube and a chrome-plated surface. There are two sets of EP doctor blades with a steel welded body.
