Pulper Wear Solutions in Pulp Preparation Line

Our company offers advanced wear solutions for Pulper systems used in paper making lines. This paper manufacturing machine is essential for breaking down waste paper, but it faces constant attack from sand, stones, metal wires, and chemical corrosion. The wear on a Pulper is mainly abrasive: hard particles in the slurry slide, roll, and impact the metal surfaces, causing material loss and deep scratches. In severe cases, blade edges can crack. In real conditions, wear is a mix of mechanical, chemical, and environmental effects. High humidity and chemical additives in the Pulper speed up corrosion and pitting, which weakens the material further. Sand and stones cause two levels of damage: micro-cutting that gradually enlarges screen holes, and macro-impact that can crack rotor blades. Wire and staples cause wrapping, unbalance, vibration, and even motor overload.

Traditional Pulper maintenance often waits for failure and then repairs. Our approach is proactive and comprehensive. For rotor repair, we use a “build-up and modify” method: first weld the worn blade edges, then apply surface strengthening. This can increase rotor life by several times. For surface reinforcement, we weld wear-resistant layers on the rotor spoiler bars and main blade faces, with thickness varying by wear level. For screen plates, we offer tungsten carbide coating with high bond strength and almost no porosity, or hard chrome plating with high surface hardness. Both options greatly extend screen life. For wire wrapping, we install hardened steel barrier rings and radial stops around the rotor hub. This mechanical barrier intercepts wires before they wrap around the shaft or seal. We also upgrade wear plates and stuffing box liners to deflect impurities away from the rotor core. For gap control, we keep the rotor-screen gap in the proper range and replace screens when wear causes the gap to exceed limits. We also design a sediment zone at the tank bottom to collect heavy impurities and discharge them through a sediment well.

In summary, wear on a Pulper rotor and screen plate is a complex system problem. Sand causes abrasive wear and impact damage, while wire causes wrapping and structural harm. Effective management requires material upgrades, structural optimization, and process adjustments. Among these, anti-wrapping modification and rotor build-up repair are the most cost-effective measures. Our company not only provides high-performance Pulper and wear parts, but also complete paper mill plant machinery and turnkey paper production line services.
