Siemens PCS7 DCS System for 100 T/D Paper Mill Machine

For a 100 tons per day paper mill machine, precise automation is essential to control pulping, screening, cleaning, refining, and approach flow. Our DCS system is built around a Siemens PCS7 AS410 SMART controller with 800 process objects, including CPU, backplane, power supply, and backup battery. The paper production equipment control architecture uses two ET200SP remote I/O stations for instrument signals and two for motor control, connected via PROFINET.
The system handles 14 analog input modules for 4-20 mA signals, 8 analog output modules, 6 digital input modules with 16 channels each, and 3 digital output modules. An operator station and an engineer station, both DELL workstations with 26-inch displays, run Siemens PCS7 9.0 SP3 industrial software on Windows 10. A 3 KVA UPS and isolation transformer ensure stable power. The complete paper manufacturing machine control package includes 144 intermediate relays, industrial Ethernet switches with fiber optic ports, and all cables and cabinets. This DCS provides precise control of consistency, pressure, flow, and level across the entire paper making line, reducing energy consumption and improving product quality.
